About Us
Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre was established in the year 2000. In April 2018 we relocated to 31 Church Street in the heart of Cavan Town. Our new location offered us the space to develop our services. Within the last 3 years Teach Oscail has gone from a strength to strength and our staff team has grown from 3 to an unbelievable 30 enabling us to offer a host of supports within the community.
Our service is a not for profit charity. Our core funder is Tusla but we also receive funding from other funding agencies. Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre has an open door policy and we are always happy to provide support to the community.
Vision Statement
The vision of Teach Oscail FRC is that the people of the area will take ownership of their community, therefore, helping themselves and each other to achieve a better quality of life.
Mission Statement
This vision will be brought about by promoting greater levels of involvement and by supporting and encouraging the community to build their confidence and leadership.
Guiding Principles
Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre adopts an open and welcoming, non-judgemental approach to all in the community and believes that everyone deserves to be heard and that all opinions are respected. We aim to target those most vulnerable in the community and to support them in overcoming social isolation and poverty in their lives. We believe that children and families are paramount to our work in the community and aim to ensure that parents and children are reached out to in a professional and supportive manner.
