Community Aftercare Service to support young people leaving the care of the Child And Family Agency.
The Community Aftercare Worker is based in Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre.
Located in the heart of Cavan Town we are extremely accessible and strive to meet the needs of the care leaving community. The community aftercare worker has a suite of services which you can be linked in to support this new chapter in your life.
This service is supported by Tusla.
Mentoring Advocate Programme
Info :
A peer to peer programme offering a listening ear.
Link in with other care leavers who have experience of aftercare.
This service is available with the support of your community aftercare worker who will make a referral to the Mentoring Advocate Programme who will confidentially match you with a mentor with similar experience.
Aftercare Drop In
Info :
Have you been in the care of TUSLA and need some information or support?
Aftercare Drop in has no age limit, no eligibility apart from any care experience.
Meet with the Community Aftercare Worker who will point you in the right direction.
This service is available every Wednesday afternoon from 2pm - 5pm in Teach Oscail Family Resource Centre.

Parent and Toddler Group
Info :
If you are now a parent, we have a Parent & Toddler group to support you through this new chapter of your life in a fun and social environment.
We have a cuppa and a chat about all the up's and down's of being a parent, have some activities for the kids and generally support each other.
Aftercare Adult Accommodation Pilot
Info :
We have built up a network of safe and secure lodgings for care leavers who are not ready to take on all the responsibilities of independent living.
This programme can be accessed through your aftercare worker.
Training Placement Programme
Info :
Annually we host 2 training placement students for care leavers.
This programme is full-time and equips you with the necessary skills and accredited training to reach your career goals.
SEE Programme
Info :
The Social, Emotional and Educational programme provides intensive support to care leavers who are not in education or training at the moment.
This programme provides you with all the skills to engage with your next step in training and employment.
